About the Coach

Tyler Jones has been coaching golf since 2014, when he began working with The First Tee and helping junior golfers develop sound fundamentals, confidence, and a lasting appreciation for the game. After stepping away briefly to begin college, Tyler returned to coaching in 2020 and has since worked with golfers of all ages and skill levels.

Tyler believes effective instruction should be personalized, practical, and easy to understand. Rather than forcing every golfer into the same swing model, he evaluates each player’s abilities, goals, physical tendencies, and preferred learning style. His lessons focus on developing repeatable fundamentals while giving golfers clear, actionable guidance they can confidently apply on the course.

Since joining Golfology full-time in 2024, Tyler has developed extensive experience using TrackMan launch monitor technology to evaluate ball flight, club delivery, and overall performance. He uses data such as club path, face angle, attack angle, launch conditions, spin rate, carry distance, and impact location to identify the changes that will produce the greatest improvement.

Tyler’s ability to translate complex swing data into simple concepts helps golfers understand not only what they need to change, but also why the change matters and how to practice it effectively. Each student leaves with defined priorities, measurable goals, and a clearer understanding of their own game.

As a low single-digit handicap golfer with clubhead speeds exceeding 140 mph, Tyler combines advanced playing ability with a strong understanding of swing mechanics, ball-flight laws, speed development, and shot shaping. His experience allows him to help golfers improve distance and consistency without losing sight of control, accuracy, and scoring performance.

Whether he is introducing a new golfer to the fundamentals, helping a junior build confidence, or working with an experienced player to lower their handicap, Tyler brings patience, energy, and a data-driven approach to every lesson.

His objective is straightforward: help each golfer understand their swing, practice with purpose, play with greater confidence, and enjoy the game more.
